We're excited to announce that Bill's metal sculptures are on exhibit at the Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art in Altoona. The two-man show features Bill's work along with local metal artist David Beach. For those who aren't acquainted with SAMA, it's an impressive venue housed in a downtown building that was once a glamorous department store, complete with stained glass, ceiling fresco, and chandelier. The room that features the exhibit is an intimate space reminiscent of a railroad car—perfect for the city of Altoona and perfect for the medium. Bill's work mingles among Beach's larger pieces, creating an exciting mix of boldness and subtleness, realism and impressionism. His work has never exploited the inherent qualities of the medium: hardness, rigidity, coldness. It is unexpectedly organic, even fragile and warm. Both artists have taken the seriousness of steel and pounded humanity and a sense of humor into it.
